86-year-old John Stephens of Greenfield, passed away Sunday March 22.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War era. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 28 at 11 AM, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto  Visitation will be from 9:30 until the time of service.  Interment ceremony to follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, with the VFW Post 1308 performing military honors.

83 year old Geraldine Smith of Port Orange, Florida, formerly of Springfield and Du Quoin, passed away March 16.  A graveside funeral service for 83 year old Geraldine Smith will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, at Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield. There is no visitation. A funeral procession will line up at Plummer Funeral Home at 10:45 a.m. to go in procession to Elmwood Cemetery.
